This is an extremely rare and scarce, undoubtedly early Edo period, incredibly unusual, gold lacquer triple-kashiwa crest, black lacquer nine-panel Nanban iron jin-gasa (conical helmet). First, I've never seen nine plates (most have eight). The jin-gasa is heavy and made of forged iron, indicating that it was created with a focus on defense against firearms. There is some peeling of the lacquer and some rust due to the iron, but these are not noticeable, and it is a very valuable Nanban-style piece. The damage to the jin-gasa (there is no damage or missing parts to the iron itself) reflects the era it has passed through, which is truly thrilling for enthusiasts.
